It worked as recently as last night and suddenly wouldn't go up this morning when parking at work. I can't look at it until about 5:30pm tonight so I figure I'll have about an hour of light before the sun sets.... so I'm trying to e-diagnose to get a plan of attack together.

What I know:
- Both switches for that window don't work (which tells me it's not a switch, unless it's a ridiculous coincidence that both died at the same time).
- I can't hear the characteristic 'clunk' or 'whine' of a motor trying to work but with mechanical difficulties (although it is a bit loud at work)
- Driver's side window works fine.

I assume it's a motor gone? Although usually 'leccy window motors go out with a whimpering groan (struggling for a bit before they die) rather than simply stop dead.

Any ideas or known gremlins I can check first?

Maybe a loose wire on the motor. Either way looks like you'll be taking the trim off and running a test lamp to it.

Done and done. Motor fine (and operation "get the window up" was an instant success). Switch not operational. Searched for a wiring diagram. Found one. Worked out the obvious - the passenger switch is a sub-switch of the driver's side. Pulled that apart and fixed some loose junk and all is well in the world.

I at least got to measure the dimensions of the stock speakers while I was at it, so it wasn't a complete waste of my time. Fuck me there is some serious sand inside the door skins though (like, a good 10-20mm deep across the bottom). I've definitely put that on the 'soon to be fixed' list.
