tyres no just spare if you want
axles yes
two stroke oil yes lol unless you think you don't need it
tail shafts I wouldn't waste your time unless you break them a lot
diff see above

I normally rip brake lines out
others seem to do transfer mounts engine mounts etc

Spare fuel pump, radiator/hoses, tail shafts and axles are about the only things that you couldn't scrounge/bodge easily, assuming you'd call it game over if you lunched an engine or gearbox.

And may I add it only includes anything for a trackside possible repairs, and keeps tools to a surprising minimum. I have everthing on it and never needed anything else

Most tools will be on hand, so I'd only bother taking basic tools you'll want to grab quick to tweak something, or anything that's specific for your car.

As for spares, most failures on AT fall into bearings/Axle/CV/Uni, or fuel/electrical - so make sure the charging system is up to scratch, and the starting system. A spare alternator and starter to have a camp wouldn't go astray. Make sure you know what's in your electrical system in terms of repairs/mods/bugs. Make sure you have plenty of fuses if your 50 runs run glass like the early 1.0 litre cars - not many people carry glass fuses. If you run a thermo, triply check it's up to scratch. Likewise the fuel pump if you're running electric/non standard.

I don't think anyone on trip will know anything at all about the 50's oil system or be able to help at all with it if you have issues, but I'm sure you're across it. Maybe some plugs, a coil, stuff like that. Most of us will be running T coils with EFI/coil pack cars so we won't have a 1.3 carby coil handy if you have trouble.

You've probably driven the 50 is terrain as hard as anything you're likely to see, so you should know its weak points by now in relation to driveline, so mostly, basic stuff to keep it running.

Whilst it's only three days of driving, and we don't always see all that much breakage, we do see a lot of niggly problems come to the fore on tour. I think it's just that it's three days back to back that brings things to the fore - if something occasionally gives trouble or you weren't; sure about something, it will let you know on tour.

Having said all that, trackside fixes are a ingrained part of the tour. We don't like to see anyone have to pull out.

Steve.

The Suzuki 4wd Club Victoria Adventure Tour 2014 has now come and gone.

Refer to the Trip Thread here to see how Tanshi survived 3 days on a very dry and dusty tour:
