well first off, Who's done it?
now im talking about a normal zuki sierra tail gate (back door) that has been changed from a swing sideways one to a fold down one, like most ute tail gates, im interested in who has done this, and how as its somethingive been thinking about for ages, just how could it be done.

but i dont see a purpose for it, what is the outcome you trying to get?
you could do it by cutting the hinges off, than getting some appropriate hinges and welding them on the bottom of the gate and attaching to the sierra (obviously fabbing up mounts etc)

i see it being a lot of work for not much outcome, and probably inhibit your ability to reach into the back etc.

Went to Bunnings and bought some $2 hinges, made up some 3mm spacers so nothing rubbed and the top lined up with the top of the tray. I reused the stock latch which worked fine, the only dramas I had was when 2 people were sitting on it ( 160kg ) the ropes attached to the tray would bend the tray where they attache to the side so I had to reinforce where they attached.
