HELP! ive got half way through greasing up the bushes on the leaf springs, im on the back tires atm, the back bushes come out as like 2 piece, that slide in from either side, but the front one i can't work out how to get out, and they are the squicky ones!

No need to remove the bush to grease it. Just grease the bolt that goes through the steel tube in the middle of the bush. |

I did that and it's still squicky, it's the rubber part moving that's squicky as greasing the bolt seemed to do nothing :/ how would I get it out if I was replacing it? |

Am 95% sure that the front leafspring bushes are exactly the same as the rears. |

I think there is some confusion here. Both front and rear springs have a fixed end which mounts to the chassis and a shackle end. In the case of standard sierra springs, the fixed end which mounts to the chassis of the rear springs uses a pressed in bush which isn't removable. In some cases, this pressed-in bush will have been removed and replaced with a two-piece bush similar to what is used on the shackle end of the springs. So no, you can't remove that bush in order to grease it. Now, to the bigger issue: If you still have the pressed-in rubber bush in the chassis end of the spring, grease isn't required. The bush is rubber, and conventional mineral grease will only (eventually) soften and damage the rubber. "Rubber" grease is available, but it's only an assembly aid and will wash out quickly. My guess is that the squeak isn't coming from the bush, it's coming from the bolt turning inside chassis mount. The bush has a central sleeve which is bonded to the bush. It is supposed to grip the sides of the chassis mount so the bolt and sleeve don't move at all as the spring works - only the bush squishes. You'll need to work out if the bush is damaged or the chassis mounts or bolt are where the squeak is occurring. |

Only one end on a Sierra with factory suspension will have the 'bonded' style bushes (front). If so leave them in as they are much better than after market versions and allow better flex. Just make sure you put some copper grease etc on the bolt as they are famous for seizing in place. |
