| Post subject: | X-90 Help Please |
Hi everyone, Sorry to ask a stupid question but I bought a running x-90 (front end damage) to put the 1.6l in my sierra. About 8 months ago I removed the alternator out of it and since it has been sitting there (have been on a 6 month holiday). I tried to get it started the other day so put it back in but I don't have spark!! I'm 90% sure it's only this and the radiator that I have tampered with and am relatively confident all the wires to the alternator have been reconnected. Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to look please? It turns over but as I said no spark. Thanks heaps for any help Cheers Pete |

sorry I forgot to mention, I'm not sure if it's normal or not but I can't hear the fuel pump either when the ignition is on. |

When the ignition is switched to on (don't crank it), you should hear the fuel pump relay (next to the fuse panel under the dash on drivers side) click on for 3 seconds, then off again. You should probably be able to hear the pump too. First thing I would check is the fuses. |

next thing to look at would be. spark plugs - plug leads. and battery! but check you get fuel first maybe as stated start with the battery as if there's no juice there there'll be no fuel pump!!! |

Thanks guys, yeah the battery was good, I pulled it straight from my other car. My brother in law's a mechanic and I'm pretty sure he checked the fuses but I will double check it when get down there (sitting at my parents place an hour from home).. It was all disconnected from the bat when I pulled it a part/reconnected it so not exactly sure what would have happened to the fuses. Cheers again |
