To fit the 1.6 you'l need to cut the gearbox crossmember out, make a new one and weld that in, get a custom jackshaft made, fit a body lift, fabricate new engine mounts, get some custom extractors made (unless you really luck out and find a set that fit, that's very unlikely though), find a way to fit a bigger radiator (if you do, brace up the mounts, mine had a corolla radiator and it cracked all the mounts off the body), cut a hole in the floor and probably do some panel beating to clear everything. It's a lot of work.

Just fit an F10a, it bolts in and you'l be able to do 110 just fine.

I recon a 2.7 V6 will fit, with the right size shoe horn that is.

If only the engineer said yes all those years ago, I would have got myself a bigger shoe horn. :)

The 2.5's are a dime-a-dozen. Surely that'd be enough poke in an LJ anyway; do you really need the extra 200cc?

I assume it's just one of those "because I can" situations: an itch that can only be scratched with the H27A.

exactly, realistically though the j20 will have more than enough breaking power might look at a bigger one down the track.

A J20/AW4 combo in a fiddy would make me happy in the pants.
