| Post subject: | Persistent leak on passenger side of sump - Help |
Not long ago I bought a 1999 Jimny JLX with a G13bb. Since owning it, it has had a persistent oil leak from the passenger side of the sump. I have resealed it twice and can't understand why it still leaks. High crankcase pressure isn't causing it either. What could be the problem? Also, why is it that after a decent drive that the engine feels like I can melt glass on it, temp gauge doesn't move but you can't touch anything in the engine bay. Wondering if this may have caused the oil leak from the head gasket that I repaired... Thanks, Ray |

Sure its not a leaking crank seal? it will push oil out the passenger side of the cover and look like a leaking sump |

Interesting... I replaced the front crank seal a few months back, the engine is super clean so I can see where the oil starts to drip. The leak always starts from the front passenger corner of the engine. Crank seal again? |
