Picked up a 03 Grand Vitara from a used car dealer today. Drove fine for the first 150kms then all of a sudden whilst doing 80kph in 5th gear the car started spluttering and shuddering. I tried to give it some more gas but it just lost power, so I quickly pullover where it stalled immediately after stopping. I couldn't get it to start after that... The starter still turned the engine but it wouldn't kick over... bad fuel pump? plugged fuel filter? Any ideas?

If you just bought it from a Dealer... take it back to them.. Chances are their dodgey mechanic just filled it up with enough fuel to leave the yard only

check engine codes maybe

no oil? engine siezed?
all your belts snap off?
fuel guage say you have fuel?
spark plug leads come out?
spark plugs shoot out?
