To all My questions
I have a narrow track 1986 tin top
To maximise suspension travel and keep cost to a minimum
Are you better to put 2in lift springs in and long shocks and if so what makes or combinations
or go to the spring over axle and new shocks. keeping in mind I want to put Pwr steer in either options and what is the best pwr steer options.
Also I need a carby for the 1300 motor with the choke attached my p/h is 03 8794 8892

It depends if you are able/willing to fabricate.

No Fab work:

For people that aren't/can't such as myself, you will want OME or EFS springs, coupled to the correct shocks for these kits or coupled to a set of gabriels or similar shocks.

Ok so here goes. This is the combination of shocks I've found that work with my leafy sierra with a 2 inch lift .

For the front Gabriel 81416 and they measure 294mm compressed and 472mm fully extended.

For the rear i used Gabriel 81147 and they measure 314mm compressed and 513mm fully extended.

Got them from supercheap auto and all up they cost me $142.64 on special.
Also note that these shocks are discontinued and may be hard to find so you may need to cross reference them.

Fab work

If you can fabricate, I'd suggest a RUF setup, that will possibly require chassis extension, new shock mounts and possibly extended shackles to make the most out of it.

I cannot provide much more info than this on one of those setups as haven't done one.

SPOA

Probably don't do this, its not as good an idea as it seems and it works out to be a lot of effort to do properly for the resulting performance.

Power steer

You can use a g13 jimny setup

You can use a sierra setup

Both of these fit right in.

You can buy an adapter kit and use a vitara setup (which wouldn't bolt up on its own) which is the cheapest option I think.
