Hey guys, all the info I read on this site tells me that my 2004 auto sq625 GV has an alloy front diff, however when i use a magnet to test if it's alloy or steel it sticks the the entire diff housing making me think it is steel. Can anyone help me out by telling me if the 2004 GV sport auto 2.5 has steel or alloy front diff.

At some stage Suzuki did put steel diffs in the autos. I think it was when they did the interior update in late 2003.

But they also did a complete design swap at some point. Take a pic of your diff and show us as much detail as possible. it will help us determine if your diff is able to take a locker or clarify when the change took place

I'll take some pics tomorrow as the missus has the car at work. It is an 04 and it does have the new interior.

Also does anyone know if an arb air locker fits my rear diff

Yep 12 bolt arb locker from a vit will fit the rear same axles as well.

I'm 99% sure it would be a steel diff being an 04 and you said the magnet stuck to it.

the rust on it would seem to indicate its steel, wouldnt it?

Yeah thats what i would have thought as well as the fact that the magnet sticks to it. But just wanted to confirm it. Also wanted to know which rear diff i have and if an arb air locker will fit the rear diff

You'll have a 12 bolt rear diff. You'll need to pick up a vitara rear diff housing and put your ring and pinion into it along with an RD209 locker.

Fronts definitely a steel diff.

So I've found conflicting info online, do I need a vitara rear third to fit an arb locker to the rear diff?

Yep, that's all you need. Pretty sure all the internals bolt up to each other. Will you be changing your diff ratios or staying stock? If you're changing make sure you get the 12 bolt R&P.
