Post subject:  Stuck Drums on my 94 SWB Sierra

I need some advice about how I can remove my drums on my Sierra. It has been sitting for quite a while and they have seized. I have just managed to get one of them to turn freely by using heaps of WD40 and hitting the drum with a rubber mallet but the other one is super stuck.
I have been told to use a small hole in the rear of the brake housing to access the shoes and mechanism with a screw driver. When I stick the screw driver in I can't find anything to free the shoes. I hope you know of the hole I am talking about, It has a small rubber lug seal.
What should I be doing?
And once I get them turning freely, how do I remove the drum? Should it come off by hand?

Any advice would help as I am an ameteur at this stuff.

Thanx

Try using the jacking bolt holes in the drum. Tighten bolts up and tap with mallet and repeat. That should get the drum off.

The jacking bolt holes??
She's stuck fast.
Does anyone know about the small hole on the back of the backing plate? A brake expert told me to access the shoes from there to back them off.
I have one spinning free.
I just want to get them both free so I can take it down the road to the brake shop.

Release hand brake, put the wheel back on and wiggle it off, or use it as a sliding hammer.

Leave outer wheel nuts tight and undo 4 inner nuts.

Kick wheel side to side but make sure the car is well supported. The wheel should fall off with the drum stuck to it.
