You will probably be allot better off on a toyota forum ad there is heaps of jimnys here but not many SC14 builds. When you do work it out, please share

At 5 psi, pulley size needs to be 61% of the harmonic balancer (jimny crank pulley) No idea how long the stock engine will last. Using this thread, and changing the 1.6 to 1.3. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=22152&hilit=boost IMO The sc14 is probably too big, an amr500 would be better. It would be an metric assload easier and more reliable to fit a bigger m series engine. |

Ive seen some dyno sheets for a bullet jimny and it reckoned 80+kw at the wheels. I see drive train breakage! any way a jimny drive line will hold up to that sort of power? I know it depends on levels of mechanical sympathy but is there a way to beef up the drive line or if im keen enough to install a supercharger im getting solid axle hilux gear or similar installed? |

Firstly, I have no issue with spending loads of money on toys, as I said. Secondly, beefing up the drive-line adds even more to the already exorbitant cost. Thirdly, see point one.

A funny thing about m18 jimnys is when I drag raced one on a beach it had no advantage over my geared m13. So I fail to see the attraction of a m18 |

If the end result is close enough to being the same then why settle for something that isn't quite right? |

In my opinion all the work supercharging and redoing the engine management system really isn't worth the time doing it to a 1.3. There is some information on the swift forums that the M15 is a much better motor to boost and holds better boost then M18's, there is ways of fixing little problems such as porting and polishing. Which another person had done on this forum. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39370&start=180 And for the over fueling issue with the injectors that would be sorted when you re-do the engine management system. This doesn't apply to the above but they have fixed the throttle body problem on the stock motors. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=30308&start=210 It doesn't really matter you don't want to run to much power on a jimny drive train as they are not the strongest.but you can fix al these problems it just costs money. If you've got the money then why not. |
