Cheapest way is to bridge a couple of the pins in the diagnostic plug, then when you turn the car on the CEL will flash a sequence at you. Count the flashes and that'll tell you what the error is. Have a read: http://www.rhinopower.org/diag/cel.html |

A 96 Vitara will not be OBD2 compliant, you're limited to the jumper method mentioned above, the dealer OBD tools, or an interface & software from Rhinopower. |

Thanks for the rhinopower link. It was the Oxygen sensor, I reckon it's socket wasn't full pushed home after the body lift. Cheers Rich |

They do have a habit of dying. Abiut $80 for a replacement if necessary. |
