Ok so for a first for me im going to make my own exaust. previous experience has not got me what i wanted so time to have a crack.
i have extractors, and some new 2inch pipe (i know its proberbly to big for a F10A but its what i have)
i was going to go to the wreckers and get a CAT from a commodore or falcon or something? that will be more than sufficient for a little motor, then a flex pipe, run the tube as high as i can with one muffler up over the back diff.
my question..
when i buy a muffler, (we have a exhaust warehouse localy) do they come in a range of muffleling effects? it NEEDS to be legal but id like it to have some bark! being a flat tray i wont notice it much inside.
will i need a hot dog to go with the mufler? or will one be enough?

I couldn't tell you what size my exhaust is, but my best guess is its 2" and only a muffler coming off the F10A from extractors.
Its fairly loudish inside, but its a LJ80 soft-top, i haven't heard it from a spectators point of view.

No need for a commodore cat- they are 2.25" and super heavy and bulky. Find something smaller. They will all flow plenty for a 1.0.

It was more for how common they are than flow.

Most cheap ones on ebay are megaflow mufflers, which will produce more noise.
I dont feel the suzuki's need to breath that much, and I would happily sacrifice some top end power for a quiet muffler.

Probably easiest and cheapest to go to the wreckers and hunt for a stock muffler in the size wanted.

Redback is a fairly well known brand so will be worth looking into.

When I first built Piggles with the 1.0 in it I ran a swift GTi rear box. Sounded fine. Finished just behind the rear axle from memory.

What year is the vehicle?

I reckon you should have a crack at a fiber packed stock harley muffler . They go for cheap as chips on ebay, are very compact and muffle quite well

Dont know if this helps but i had a f10a in my carry van and heres the upgrade i did ... sounded great ...
