I know there are a lot of threads about in regards to this subject... Question is what works well? I would prefer not to cut the Gearbox tunnel but would like to add a fifth speed. thought of going for a M15 but again I'm open...increasing the Kw is where I'm at so...G13 G16 M18??? and the pit falls? |

The internals of 1.3 5spd fit in the maruti box. Physically they are identical. I wheel with 3-4 marutis 2 x 2001 baleno 1.6 engines including mine, 1 x gti and one standard 1 ltr. For speed side by side the gti and baleno cars are identical, most gti engines are so old and had a hard life which is why i went a low km baleno engine from a newer car. Some stuff is different to 1.3 sierras so there can be a few fiddly bits but pretty straight forward swaps. 1 3 carb and 5spd are easiest and cheapest coupled with marutis lower gears go quite well. You do need to grind off engine mounts and weld 1.3 ones on. Just to note the suzuki shops in perth charge 5-7.5k drive in drive out. Ive done a few for people alot cheaper if your genuinely interested. |
