Hi everyone. Just trying to install the 50mm efs kit i just received and im having trouble getting the front springs out. The problem im having is the smallest spring compressor i can find seems to big and doesn't fully grab the springs so i cant get them out. any ideas how to do it or do i just have to go find some smaller spring compressors? |

undo the bottom of the shocks, jack the chassis till the spring falls out watch out for you vacuum hoses and breaklines. |

Don't need spring compressors. Some pics on my build thread showing how I used jacks on the diff to make it easier and the brake lines and vacuum hoses I had to unclip; http://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=44709 |

thanks guys. got it working. I got the front in but the back is still stock so it looks like a gangsta caddy with a lowered rear end. |

The fronts done but your welcome to come help with the rear and have a beer or three. My panhards arrived today so contemplating putting them in as well. |

big thanks to Dave for coming and giving me a hand it was alot easier with two!! we encountered a problem tho. the passenger side rear shock wont line up with the mount. we tried various iterations of jacking it up at various spots and it still wouldnt go. now i think ive fucked the bolt and thread a little. so ive got a few ideas: 1. mount the bottom of the shock first and then the top mount after. 2. get shock relocation brackets. as far as the stuffed thread am i better off just drilling the mount out and using a bolt and nut? |

Both Wilso and I have drilled our bottom mounts out after the thread stripped. Being a really fine thread (1.25) they strip quite easily and also have issues with undoing themselves. I've even had them come out with loctite. Get a 12mm x 150mm bolt with a nylock but and you'll be trouble free. And make sure you use loctite on all your shock bolts... They will come undone lol |

Shock mount relocators are worth adding. The axle rotates when you raise the rear, this puts a twisting force on the shocks. |

Thanks guys. I drilled the left mount out and it was a piece of piss. I'll do the right one once the re locators arrive. |

I also used the nuts off the stock front shocks as locking nuts on top of the new front shocks. |

Pete unfortunately my nuts had to be cut off otherwise I'd do that. I might go buy some more and do it anyway. Good idea |
