i have a 92 sierra and am thinking of swaping the motor with something a bit more powerfull. any ideas on what is an easy fit that wont be a real f##k around. Thanks Jayme.. |

agreed on the g16 efi.Good power,good economy,simple conversion i guess the swift is as easy too but my mates swift gti powered zuk was just not suited to the bush i thought,Nothing torque wise until higher revs not really suited for crawling. hope this helps |

There is no better engine for: - cost - ease of install - reliability - balance between power onroad and low down torque offroad (with appropriate reduction gearing to account for larger tyres etc.). |

G16b for the win g13bb not quite as powerful, easier install BUT apparently can be less reliable i dunno have not run into that yet, and i think a bit harder to get |

i went and bought a g13b its sitting under my house and im deciding weather or not to get a g16b they just seem way better. but make sure its not a g16a their not much better than a 1.3 |

i have a g13b in mine.. i like to drive fast and hard tho.. and i am planing on turbo'ing it! i would go a g16 any time for offroad work tho |

g13b turbo...took mine offroad the other day....she loves it..minus a few problems(stupid water!!!hahah) jumps on boost and just cruizes through!!!! |

Carb'd G16 is a decent cheap swap I reckon. It's like 25% more powerful than the standard 1.3L and more torque. It's nowhere near as good as the efi 1.6 but I'd still a lot higher on my list than the old 1.3 lol. |

not much better that a 1.3!........................i would much rather have a g16a even over a g13b twin cam. |

The GTI engine is the best engine Suzuki has ever built until the recent M series engines, although they havnt proven the test of time yet. I have a GTI engine in my sierra with 33s and gears and although they dont have as much low down torque as the 1.6 vit, the punishment they can take is crazy and they are much more reliable.Heaps better for beach driving where long legs and high rpm is needed and heaps more fun on road. If you like to crawl through the bush like a grandpa, go the vit motor, but if your rough on the gear, the GTI is the only way to go. |

The best thing about the GTI engine is the potential of them. They can withstand low to even moderate boost in totally stock form quite reliably, as long as fuel mixture, fuel quality and ignition timing is monitored correctly. I built one for an off road buggy running 8 psi with a Haltech and it has lasted ages hanging off the rev limiter every race. Ive also turboed 2 GTI swifts for my missus over the years. I dont no why Suzuki put these things in a girls car, although they are fun to drive. |

I highly doubt there would be a noticeable difference in onroad speed between a G16B and the GTI engine in a zook if they are both stock ECMs. Mine is plenty fast enough for what I want. |

B- ever had a 1.6 mpi efi? or any other zook motor for that matter? C- a 1.6 will rev just as hard as a gti....hence the rev limiter. D- gti injection is a dinosour and has proven more problematic than 1.6. E- what experience have you hade with all zook motors? F- wake the f@#k up before you go calling kenn a granpa! he probably has done more shite over the years than myself, and his experiance, going by proven facts, far outwieghs your inteligence. |

I just gave my opinion on "best motor 4 on and off road" and received a lesson on how to 4wd. My response to kenn was not meant to offend, it was just my "unintelligent" attempt at humour. Im sure he will get over it and doesnt need joeblow to talk him up. As for the rev limit of the vit engine, it may be the same as the gti, but they sure arent as comfortable reaching it. Ive wired plenty of aftermarket and factory ecu's into gti engines and a few vit engines and they operate very similar, as do most efi systems in general, with just very small differences from model to model, so I would like to know why you think the gti injection system is so primitive from any other system. They make good power,good economy, and from my experiences, VERY reliable. |

The only real difference between the two engines, besides the capacity, is the design of the head and how it operates, and it is the vit engine that is SO primitive compared to the gti engine. 16 valves operating off one cam and every one of them manually adjusted off those stupid little rocker arms, it was the Suzuki engineers that were smoking the wierd shit when they designed the vit and jimny top ends. |
