Hey guys, I'm fitting a light bar to my jimny, I have found the high beam light wire, but when I turn my head lights off there is power to all three wires going into the back of the light in turn keeping the light bar on, when they are turned on they are acting like a normal headlight loom.
Any ideas would be great

search.php will tell you that it's a red wire with a white trace on it (w/ silver bands).

Thats far from ideal...
if you want it wired into high beam, use the diagram I posted, connect you high beam wire to the neg trigger terminal via a switch the wire you want at thr back of the headlight will be the one that becomes a earth when on highbeam, and when in any other position it should have battery voltage

Had me scratching my head for a day before I searched through these forums for the correct way to do it and the reason why. Once I found it, it was like bang bang done.
Now to bring up the one in my favourites for wiring the Carling Switches in properly.
Seek and ye shall find.

I was merely giving him a different option as i know that jimnys dont like to be over loaded thats all wiring it up to his high beams could do that there's no need to be belittling any one thanks
atari4x4 you seem to be on your own agenda "targeting me " if you have an issue feel free to call me ill inbox you my number just dont go running your mouth and start calling me names like were some bunch of school kids on this forum you started this shit the other day i was nice enough to let it go! and even changed my thread name for you " you yapped up about my thread ' gum tree 'when there wasn't even a dedicated thread for it . you made a big deal about my gum tree thread "stating i should of looked better for the thread with the heading ebay and gum tree and begun to take the mikki outa me . i looked before i posted that thread 'none existed buddy ' the only thread that did was an ebay only thread thats why i generated a new thread stating Gum tree !
just because his thread stated some thing different it doesn't mean i cannot give him a different option . I'm not going to be playing your childish games on this forum when some one needs my help i try to help thats all dosnt give you the right to follow me around on auzooker forum and take Diggs at me ok
grow up and have some respect fore others .
im happy to go to another forum if this shit keeps going on" this forum is here to help others be a part of a connected group that support and help each other . not a forum to fuck with people

I have no idea what atari said to you in this thread. If anything it was skippy that pointed out your diagram was positively switched and completely wrong. I suggest everyone calms down. So many storms in so few teacups of late. So much drama being beaten up worse than a dodgy daytime soap opera. jake84 wrote: this forum is here to help others be a part of a connected group that support and help each other. Couldn't agree more, and unfortunately incorrect information needs to be corrected in order to facilitate that help. Don't get too offended if and when someone calls you out on it.

Lighten up Jake. You have been here long enough now to know that Atari is just like this.. so yes "I will happily go to another forum" might be your best bet if you can't ignore his comment. There are plenty of us that poke shit at one another so it's not just you. If it wasn't for the smart ass comments from the likes of atari, we would have much to laugh about.

im happy for those how want to correct me go right a head and do so that's not my issue at all ive been on here long enough to know that atari is just like that "no i dont agree with that statement at all" im actually very out going very chilled out person so the fact im having to right this stats something! i shoudnt have to ignore some ones comments dude " not when its some one constantly dishing it out for no valid reason . i still dont see how posting a different option can give any one ells a reason to belittle others . i dont want to sound like i have a pole up my ass 'i dont from what i can see " to many things have happened to say its ok its only a joke . if it was only one thread id be ok all good but its not some times people need to make boundaries and thats what im doing . if you guys cannot appreciate that " then im very happy to close up my threads and be gone ill find a another forum that dose appreciate my values

I haven't been around since the early days of AZ, but if you have a bit of a Grimbo , you'd see that storms in teacups are an AZ tradition. And the old threads are better than dodgy soap operas

The relay connected to the high beam wire is only used for a trigger signal to active the relay. This only draws something like 0.1A or so. Pretty much negligible.
