what is the difference between an auto (lockrite) locker with and without couplers?????

i want to put one into the rear of my 85 1.3 NT sierra

what exactly do the "couplers" do

the standard lockrite uses your diff side gears,the coupler replace your side gears.the couplers maybe a better option if the diffs done a fair bit of work.
I have the standards in my front and rear and they have been fine.but now airlockers :blingbling:
