I have a full Dobinson spring/shock set up on my 92 Vitara soft top. I have noticed that the passenger side rear spring sags a lot even with no load.
I currently have 160kg sitting in the rear on the drivers side and that is sitting much higher than the passengers side.
When the car is fully loaded for camping, I can easily stand on top of the tyre on the drivers side to tie stuff on the roof racks, but can't even fit my foot between the tyre and wheel arch on the passenger side.

Is this a known problem? Anyone else seen this before? Are there some better springs I can put in the rear? I was thinking maybe Lovells or something.

are you sure is spring sag and not a broken coil hat or some thing else?

I haven't checked that, but it has always sagged more than the other side since new, just that now it's getting a lot worse so more noticeable. Will have a look tonight and see if anything is broken but I doubt it.

try swapping the spring over to see if it changes sides.

drop the top shock nut, compress & swing the shock backwards, chock the front wheels, crack rear wheel nuts, jack it up high enough to be able to get some articulation & chuck chassis stands near where the rear trailing arms bolt to the chassis, remove wheels, pack under the jack & jack one side of the diff, put some weight on the low side & you should be able to pull the spring out, do the other side & slap it back together in reverse order.
