hey guys, mid way through my M16a conversion and have a few queries is it advisable to block off the coolant lines running to the throttle body? i want to use the coolant IN and OUT to plumb up the factory oil cooler (i hope it works that way) also the water pump is completely different between the 13 and the 16. (i've used the 16 one, it sounded quieter)

Why do you want to run the oil cooler to the TB? When I swapped in my 1.8 I used the coolant pump that came with it, I just swapped the back housing from 1.3 which just bolted up. |

not to the throttlebody itself, but to where the throttlebody hoses go into the block., disconnect the coolant lines to the throttlebody and use them to plumb the oil cooler? if that makes sense |

Yeah now I get it, what about a "T" junction so both will function? I think Paulw disconnected the coolant hoses to TB but I do wonder how/if the idle would be affected at warm up to operating temp. |

It does happen Jezza, rare but it happens. My idle takes a minute or so for enough warm coolant to release the IAC to drop idle rpm, without the coolant flow and just relying on manifold temp it would take longer. |

is the coolant warming a wax pellet type idle up thing like G series and carbies have or is it an emmisions thing to warm the intake? |

It seems to warm the back of the IAC valve |

I would be inclined to plumb them in series, go from block, through throttle body, through oil cooler and back to block, will work just as well and you don't have extra fittings floating around |
