Anyone know if the gearboxes/transfer is the same length between both and will bolt into a GV?

5sp auto would be nice but I think there'd be wiring that would need to be done?

Cheers

EVERY XL-7 swap is going to require wiring - the PCM (powertrain control module) needed for the engine & transmission also controls the transfer case and will also be looking for the BCM - so expect to have some challenges.

Does your car have ABS?

The XL-7 has a few more things such as G sensor and all the control modules talk together including the immobilizer which share a specific code (without it engine wont start)

Not sure what effect not having ABS will have, something hopefully the service manual will shine some light on .

But from what i get out of the SDT is that the ECU/AT talk to each other and ABS is separate only thing that is similar is the Brake switch. Plus XL-7 and later Grand vitaras have a torque converter lock that is activated in low range.

Nup no ABS. Anyone got a link to the service manual of the xl7?

That's awesome it has a torque converter lockup in low.

Sweet, was having a look at 5 spd but thought it would be too much work.
