Hi, I'm buying a Baleno with intentions of removing the G16B engine and mating it to my manual transmission Sierra. I want to know if an automatic donor Baleno will work, or do I have to get a manual for some reason? I want to use the ECU, harness and engine, etc from the donor. Is there any reason an automatic donor will not work? Any experiences with this procedure?? |

The engine will work with your manual box with the adapter. The ECU may be a different story if it also controls some of the auto box functions in the Baleno, I dont know. Someone else may have that answer. |

Yeah, thats what I was concerned about. Does anyone know if the conversion can be done using automatic ECU and modified harness, or do I need to be chasing a manual transmission donor? |

I think it will be Ok, but I can't be certain. Not sure if the auto baleno runs a different ecu that also controls the trans or not. |

Would you need a spigot bearing to support the input shaft? |
