So after 10 years, the zooks a/c sounds a bit worse for wear!


several hundred gutfuls of mud has taken it's toll, the poor thing sounds like a jet taking off when switched on these days!

I have asked the question of suzisport. But thought I would check here. has anyone had to replace one? are there non genuine units available? I am too scared to price a genuine unit!

don't go through genuine, a decent ac bloke will be able to sort yours out or get the same brand and model as suzuki uses for a poofteenth of the price.

I don't know what brand the OEM compressors are, but I found Heatcraft to be quite useful when I was chasing a few bits for a Sanden unit a while ago.

My compressor makes some nasty bearing noises every so often, but only after driving on corrugated roads. Switching the aircon off and on again makes the noise go away (for now).

Is it a part that give it up easily?
I have a spare one (Genuine) which I was thinking of selling, but mine is about the same age so maybe I should hang onto it! But as
the conderser has gone in mine I need the cash to replace it. I have been hunting for a Second hand or after market, but your still talking big bucks.

I got around my problem by doing the same thing for a while. but now she roars constantly. compressor bearings are are shot completely.


Thanks for the info guys. Have got a local a/c specialist on the hunt for me now.

Don't think so mate. Of all the GV's I have ever known of, very few have had a/c issues. And as I said, mine is likely due to the fact it has copped more than it's fair share of mud and water directly through it!
