i am going to put a g16 carby motor in my sierra this weekend and have a couple off questions. the motor i have has what looks to be a falcon carby on it and i want to run a suzuki carby. i have bought a vit carby through outers however it looks like it will be a while until i get it. if i run a sierra carby would i be better running the sierra intake manifold? will a sierra carby bolt up to a vit manifold? is this manifold a vit one?
also i am sticking a 110amp alternator on, would i be right in guessing that if i get the wires around the wrong way smoke wont come out it just wont work and if that is the case i can just swap them around and the other connection goes to the battery. the only fuse like i could find was 30amp does that mean if i put 4 lengths of fuse link together it will be 120 amp?

Sierra carb will work, look for the thread on here about nissvit rejetting Steves to make it go better right on the alt, 2 wires, 2 spots, if the warning light doesnt come on its wrong |

i also have to swap pulleys on the air con compressor and as i want to leave the system gassed what is the best way to get the pulley off. i cant hold it when i use a spanner, will it be ok if i just up it with a rattle gun? |

If its got openings in it like a vit power steering pump I usually just put a screwdriver through and lever that off the case while I turn the spanner. Otherwise I don't see why a rattle gun would wreck it. Thats all I use on alternators and it doesn't wreck them. |

more problems the crank pulley is rubbing on the timing mark and the idler pulley is about 4mm out of line to the crank pulley. i can ether space the crank pulley out a few mm but that is probably dodgy? or i can toss the swift compressor mounts and reuse the 1.3 mounts. the prob with the 1.3 mount is that the top bracket wont bolt up to the compressor so i would need to make some sort of bracket for adjusting the compressor belt. what do people suggest?

could you not use a thinner multi v belt and just run it on the grooves that match up? |

the thing with my pulleys is that the water pump and alt pulleys line up with the crank pulley it is just the air con compressor that i am having problems with. i will worry about it when i get the motor in the car as the compressor is still gassed up. |
