I need some advice. This has been discussed a bit in the m series swap thread but I want to put it to a wider audience. I don't know if it's related to engine swap or something else but I'd like to get it sorted. The problem occurs in two different ways. A) after stationary idling for a short period, when I attempt to take off it has no acceleration for a moment then kicks in and all good. This seems to be random and only 10% of take offs B) again this is random and only occurs sometimes. Under heavy acceleration the power seems to hold back until I back off slightly, then gas it and it's fine. Obviously I need some ecu re-mapping to get the 1.8 running correctly but this seems to be an issue aside to that. Fuel delivery issue? Vacuum issue? It still runs and has never cut out. The rest of the time it runs well. Keen for feedback. Cheers |

Long shot, but check the vacuum hose from the inlet manifold to the fuel pressure regulator isn't blocked from cruddy blow by crud or other obstruction. If the reg takes a while to close when the manifold pressure comes up from vacuum you might be starving the injectors until does. |

Cheers watermouse, some sort of vacuum issue seems quite likely to me so I'll have a look at this tomorrow. |

Also clean/service coilpacks The low rpm issue was same as i had, turned out to be crusty ols coils. Pulled them apart cleaned contact points - fixed |

Thanks Mr Rocky. Contacts are clean, new plugs and I've even tried two different sets of coils, same outcome. I've just gotten back from a test drive after totally disconnecting the factory crankcase ventilation including the PCV valve connection to the manifold. Just running a SuperCheap style breather where the PCV entered the rocker cover, severed link between intake (prior to the throttle body) and rocker cover, and sealed all hoses temporarily. The test drive was good so I'll leave it like this for when I go out later for a longer drive and see how it goes. |

Had a longer drive today and the issue is still there so I'll reinstall the PCV system tomorrow and go hunting for a vacuum leak elsewhere. I'll also have a fresh look at the coil packs and leads while I'm at it. After that I'll look at fuel delivery. Any other suggestions are appreciated. |

The aftermarket coil packs i tried were shit and failed pretty quick Factory is best |

I had a shit aftermarket set, second aftermarket set were good. Currently running genuine Liana coils. OEM is ridiculously expensive. |

They could both be tune issues. A is likely to be the ECU retuning at idle, B may be the knock retard cutting in, if you have access to a Suzuki scan tool then check the knock count. |

mine is now sorted, it was an oxygen sensor issue |
