Post subject:  airbox for gti conversion

hey everyone, what have people done for an air box after doing the gti conversion.. I have got a mk2 engine in mine al running and on the road but it's currently only using a pod filter!! tried to rout it to the stick airbox but failed due to the air flow meter..

what have other people done? any help greatly appreciated and I want to be able to go thru water an mud without having to drive around it lol..

have searched and didn't find anything the gave me any pics or good info

it might do, I'll go out in 5mind and have a go.. my only problem is the afm that's gotta go in there.. your lucky enough to have the mk1 engine by the looks of it

been a little time but been away for work, did try that and with my afm etc it doesn't quiet fit, any other ideas at all anyone?? currently just running snorkel and no filter :/

I'm in the same boat. Here's a few ideas I've seen.

I think I've seen a pic of the AFM grafted into the top of the Sierra filter. I might look into that.

But I suspect I'll end up making a custom housing (especially if I want a snorkel).

yea top is a gti but they aren't easy to get hold of, I have one on mine as when I was running a gti I needed it to clear defect but this other one I built I'm trying to find a way around sourcing another gti box.. also tried the flexy pipe stuff but I found it would keep splitting around the hose clamps :/
