Hey everyone, this is my first post on here and just signed up. My main hobby is modifying my nissan GQ and hittin the tracks. After the 3 years together i have given my girlfriend the 4x4 bug and we are looking at getting here a Jimny. After looking at a dozen used ones for sale all over south east QLD i have found a mint lil gem. Its a 2006 1.3L vvt 5 Speed with 94 000km on it, passed roady no worries and am really happy with the way it drives. It is however a non powersteer model , but that doesn't really phase us as they dont exactly weigh 3tonne like the patrol haha. This brings me to my first question: I can get my hands on all the power steer parts off a 2013 jimny, will they bolt straight on? And i just mainly wanna get opinions, hints, feedback, info that anyone might wanna shed on the 06 jimny im looking at buying, as ive never dealt with them before but wanted another coil live axle 4b. Cheers guys

I run -15 mm offset rims and 30x9.5 bfg km2's.
I have no need for power steering anx neither does my housemate, and she nicks it to walk my dog through the bush when im on holiday. I wouldnt bothor with it.
If the the front wheels/ steering wheel starts to wobble, search for death wobble.

cheers for that, yeah its not a high priority thing on my list of mods. It does have a slight wobble at 80. The seller is getting all wheels re-balanced before i pick it up. I can see some weights have fallen off the steel rims on the front so im hoping that's all that it will be.

It's unlikely to be wheel balance. Check the death wobble thread for how to fix death wobble properly. I think power steer is desirable.

Oh that's right, jimny's can't run big enough tyres to need power steer :D

i reckon 31x10.5 would be pretty sheit trying to dry steer on bitumen, but my housemates pecs are pretty good.

If you have a wobble at 80 then the king pins might need some shims. Not a difficult job. Read the death wobble section on this. Also listen for a noisy transfer case which can be a symptom of a stretched chain. That is about a $600 repair or replace issue.
