Post subject:  Quick wiring question G16b

Hey Guys i have almost completed my G16b conversion, cut down the wiring harness and now installing it in the car. Just have a quick question on what wires i would tap into the existing loom.

So far i am connecting:
Tacho (brown)
Speed sensor (yellow) still need to make a VSS
Check engine light (not sure on colour yet)

Is there anything else i need to connect to the sierra loom?

Also for the temp sensor i replaced the vitara temp sensor with the sensor from the sierra now in order to make this work do i connect the sierra temp sensor to the sierra temp wire and just splice the vitara temp sensor wire to the sierra wire, in order for the ecu to know what is going on?

I also apologies if this has already been covered before because i know it is a pretty popular topic i have seen one other thread that gives an idea what to connect but from memory nothing was confirmed.

Cheers

Check engine light is already in WT clusters but there is no wiring for it. You'll need to solder a wire to the bit the bulb clicks into. You'll see what I mean when you find it.

There is provision for two temp sender units in G16b manifolds. Use one for sierra dash and the other for ecu input.

The computer needs to be connected to the ignition power as well

Huge thread dig here but I figure it's all better off in one place...

I'm doing a g16a 16v install into an SJ413 (Jap Sierra if you like. I'm in NZ), so I am adding multipoint injection and therefore an ECU. Exactly what from the donor loom needs power, earth or any other sort of integration for the new motor to run? Where does crank signal come from? I'm having a mare of a time trying to figure this out!

No need for vss

I think there is. No VSS will throw a trouble code which will then mask other potential problems.

Im yet to see any ill effects even fuel consumption seems unaltered

It's primarily the CE light getting thrown that I have the problem with. An inoperative CEL narrows the advantage of EFI of carby quite a bit in my opinion.
