Im installing a 2nd tachometer to see if the factory one is reading correct.

The gauge is installed and just needs the signal wire hooked up. The gauge instructions say to join the signal wire to the negative side of the dizzy?

Is this correct or is there another wire i could get an rpm signal from?

I thought you'd connect to the same point the stock tach is connected to - it's the brown/white wire connected to one of the terminals of the coil.
