ok so i know this topic has been covered 1000 times. but im over searching for the answer im looking for. my shocks are buggered and i need new ones. running 2" springs 2" shackles with a 2" body lift, internal roll cage steel bullbar, rear bar and slider & 31s on cut and flipped rims with neg 50 offset. so its a bit top heavy and really starting to notice my old shocks loosing performance. i want to know what yous are running (shock wise) brands/ size/ mounting positions. whats the best brand quality/performance wise in your opinion? |

I have commodore shocks, best bang for buck i reckon. Never had a problem with them for the year i have owned them! But i dont carry around as much weight as you. But haven't heard many bad reports from OME either. |

I run bilsteins 1525s . For under $100 each landed to your door you can't really go past them at that price |

Got Koni adjustables in mine. They are a softly valved, oil only shock which seem to work great with leaf springs. |

You won't hear much good about ranchos on here, lots of people have tried them and it seems they have some quality issues and I think you'll find they may have clearance issues with the rear as well. As for your top heavy zook, 2" shackles mostly cause more stability and steering issues than any thing else, your castor would probably be way off, and with a 2" body lift as well your not Likely chasing clearance for 31's But as others have said koni and blistein are probably the best, though weather you need the best is anther question. I have ome's and don't feel I would ever need a better or adjustable damper. But the obvious advantage of the former brands is the available lengths and rates to suit what ever you might need. |
