Hi Guys,

I am looking for a reliable mechanic in Melbourne to PROPERLY diagnose my 91 SE416-C Vitara steering issues. I find that because its an older car a lot of mechanics have a 'don't care' attitude. 'too-hard-basket' maybe?

As i take a lot pride in my little zook I'm looking for someone who will also care for my car and safety, and do a thorough overview.

Ideally a mechanic who knows these cars inside and out.

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

What's it doing? Might be easy to diagnose.

wondering/pulling both left and right (randomly chooses a side, flip-flops).

Car also responds differently when turning left to right, feels like its more reactive, engages earlier turning right than turning left. left turn feels more sluggish and have to turn the wheel further to get the same level of turn…

Not sure this makes sense.

I feel like something might be bent etc??

Sounds like collapsed wheel bearings??? If you jack up the front end, does the wheel have a heap of play in it (clunking around).

Otherwise, could be a steering damper sticking? Unbolt 1 side of the damper and go for a test drive...
