| Post subject: | Inner Cv No travel |
Hey, i have a SE416 Vitara, i have a problem, my inner Cv in the front has no travel, it is an aftermarket one, but its usable travel is 15 degrees, is this normal? I have had 2 different brand of CV shaft in the front, and thier all the same, the outer joint is great, i will never snap it because the inner one binds along time before. any help or advice would be appreciated. I am thinking of widening the front track of my vitara, and i was wondering if the longer(40mm aprox) Cv shafts of the later model vitaras could easily be modified to fit a 22 spline diff? aka the 26 spline inner cv is knocked of and replaced by a 22 spline for the drivers shaft, and do the outer hubs have the same spline count? |

is it the normal burfield style of joint or the retarded tripod roller type that's binding? EDIT: got any diff drops & how much lift you running? EDIT EDIT: yeah you can make a hybrid shaft, but they really all need to be genuine CV's to get it to work. |

I believe it is a Tripod model, where would it be possible to get a Burfield style joint? I have had Repco ones, and they are crap, same thing, these are Ebay ones, and i got a quote for some genuine ones, and they were over $1000 each |
