Hi all,

Just wondering what is involved in replacing a sierra 1.3 carby with a Vitara carby ?

I assume you would need a converter or something?
Has anyone done this ?

I got a vit carby lying around doing nothing and though i might give it a go!

Had a go tonight, but failed miserably.

have a coolant hose with nowhere to go and the electric plugs did not match. Dont have a test light at the moment to try and work out the electrics and cant for the life of me work out how i have an extra hose with nowhere to go.

Surely someone else out there has done this themselves and have some tips for a wannabe mechanic like myself!!!

Dont know what model vitara the carby is off and cant seem to attach any photos.

I don't think you'll get any benefit from doing it?

Are you using the 1.6 carby manifold aswell coz they are slightly different in the hole sizes where the carby meets the manifold.

yeah the sierra manifold has an extra bypass hose setup thats not part of the vit carb, I remember making a sierra carb fit a 1.6 once and there was somehting left to block off

like Steve said, bung the manifold on too, will help a lot
