I've got my diffs in at arb getting lockers and my 4.6 R&P gears from lowrange offroad... and the diff flanges won't fit over the new pinion. my understanding was that maruti diffs were identical to sierras, is there a slight difference in the flange? (note: im not talking about the bolt spacing for pinion-driveshaft, thats unrelated) spline count is the same, and they said when measured with the verniers it was also near identical however the flange just will not go over the pinion...

was my thought... but you'd think a reputable shop would be all over that. i'm thinking i'll just buy new flanges and call it good.

I had same problem once with sierra wt flange on an nt pinion shaft so it isn't just a maruti thing.
No idea on specifically what years/models are different though.

ahh ok... so best (safe) bet would be to buy WT sierra pinion flanges then WT driveshaft flanges to suit? trying to fit to these:

SierraDan and I had the same trouble a few years back. Between about 10 different diffs we found the spline count and diameter were identical but the spline shape differed with some having a rounded chamfer on the edges, some were square.

They weren't interchangeable and we couldn't pick any common theme as to which vehicles would use which type.

what a pain in the ass. i ended up emailing lowrange offroad to make sure their new flanges fit so i'll order them. Maruti bolt spacing identical to NT sierra isnt it? because i can just order them and be done with it...

2x Samuari/WT diff pinion flanges and 2x WT tailshaft flanges will be needed from Lowrange, plus 2 Uni joints. My 97 Maruti MG410WT has NT spacing and small bolt sizing on both diffs.
