Hey guys sorry if this has been covered before but wanting opinions on what sort of weight you would wanna stay under when making a bullbar / winch bar on a sierra, specifically a coily sierra. Im talkin max weight of bullbar and winch together? Wanting to know what limit is good before its going to ruin the front end of my car. Also having rear bar fabricated but no extra weight of winch so no worries there. Planning on getting tow/ load rated king springs front n rear. Cheers for ya help |

Most people run a 6000lb or 9500 lb winch. (I'd go 9500) Not much you can do about the weight of either except swap cable for rope. Make mounts and winch cradle first then add outriggers for indicators etc or make the whole lot out of sheet metal like an arb. No matter which way you go you will need to play with the spring packs to adjust height/lean. No personal experience with coily suspension so maybe someone else will chime in. |

Hey cheers for that mate. Yea im runnin a 9500lb winch with dyneema rope. I thought if i wrote that ppl would flip out n say im goin overkill n waste of money blah blah blah. But i know how to use it n not rip off my front end. Just means i can use it everyday if needed n i will never burn out the motor. Total winch weight is 28kg. Not too worried about the fabrication process but more worried about what weight is goin to ruin my front end over a period of time with that extta load off the chassis. All help muchly appreciated |

The extra weight won't worry the chassis at all. The springs might be a different story. |
