Has anyone replaced the bearing in their tensioner pulley (AC and Power Steering 1999 Jimny)? Mine sounds like the bearing has issues and looking at the cost for a new pulley assembly $149! I wonder if anyone has pressed out the old bearing and pressed in a new one and if so do you remember the bearing you used?

Its more than likely a standard bearing size, so if you measure it and ring up a bearing shop they should be able to supply you with something that will work.

Assuming it can be pressed out/in etc.

Done it a few times on Toyota's, bearing cost around $9. Was told that the actual V pulley does suffer from wear in a high klm engine.

Cost for the new bearing was $15 as opposed to $130 for a new pulley and bearing from online. Very simple to tap out the bearing and tap in the new one now is running like a champion again.

i changed the pulley in mine not too long ago, sourced an ebay unit for about $50 so you're in front of me at $15.

That was for the whole pulley Im guessing? the $15 was for the bearing only as I did not need to replace the pulley

Bearing is 80mm OD, 50mm ID and 16mm wide. Sealed both sides.

6010 - (2RS - I think 2RS means it has seals both sides). Ask the bearing shop for best one to suit application
