Post subject:  SUZUKI SIERRA SWB HARD TOP UTE CONVERSION

Hi
I am new to this forum site, Just want to know is it possible to convert a hard top sierra 1995 model to a ute. The reason I am asking is that I bought a 1982 sierra lwb nt ute which came with a 1l engine and I have installed all the drive train from the hard top to the ute and still have to modify ute. Just want to know is any one who has done any thing like this or has any information ,it would be a great help,

Not entirely sure what you are asking, Do you want to use the hard top body on the lwb chassis or enclose the cab of the lwb into more of a ute?

Either way, Here is some inspiration

I am rebuilding the lwb ute - it has the lwb ute chassi but have modified and used the drive train/engine off the hard top 1.3L.
Now I need to fit the body.
I am asking whether it is possible to modify the body of the hard top to become a ute?
I also have the body of the ute but it is not in as good condition as the hard top (rust etc) plus I would have to modify it to suit 1.3L drive train.

So Can I just cut the back off 1.3 hard top and weld ute back window on with some mods, is this legal ??? Remember I'm new

Ah right, It's a trayback. My bad, I was just assuming it was a lwb softop.

Yes it would be possible, But would the time and effort be worth it? Probably not.

Depending on how bad the rust is in the ute cab, You'd be better cutting the bits you need from the hard top to patch it and you would also have to open up the trans tunnel for the 1.3 gearbox.
And no it wouldn't be legal, At least not without getting it signed off by an engineer.
