Anyone replaced the bushes for the shifter linkage? I looked at the FSM diagram but it's not real clear what the serviceable items are. Also can aftermarket replacement parts be sourced easily in Aus or will this be a dealership deal? |

I assume we're talking about pre-2006 Jimny? The two rear bushes (look like mini transfer bushes) are a simple replaceable item, the forward bush is pressed in. I've just packed this one with large diameter washes to remove the slack but makes it a lot more rigid. |

Thanks for the help zukenutter. So the problem looks to be a whole lot worse now you posted that pic. I had an alignment done on it today and the shop handed me a part and said "pretty sure this fell out from your car". It looks a hell of a lot like the black link in your pic. It's sheared off at the end opposite the through bolt with what looks like part of a plate bracket still attached. I'll try to get a pic up when the rain stops. Thing is I can still change gears :/. It's just not real positive. |
