Post subject:  Main bearing cap stiffeners
I'm rebuilding my g16b at the moment & the manual I have shows main bearing cap stiffeners bolted to the bearing caps.
Don't recall taking them off before being sent away for machining.
Are other people using these in their motors? Should I source a set for mine?

I don't run one and have never had an issue with it.
There is some inconsistency between various G16a/b's and they don't all run them.

If you're not planning anything too extreme I wouldn't be at all concerned.

My Vit engine had a bearing cradle, but the Baleno donk I fitted didn't.
I chose to refit the Vits cradle to new engine, seemed wise.
Can't answer wether it is needed or not.
It looked like it would not fit in the Balenos sump shape, but I used the Vits anyway.
