Hi Guys, Getting towards the end of my 1.6L conversion. And I have a vacuum hose that I am not 100% sure what to do with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Wnh5xaGv28 The hose that the guy in this video is holding / blocking with thumb. What does the plastic box / filter / valve do? I don't have it, do I need it? I can see where the hose needs to go to on the air in-take, see the first pic: http://imgur.com/a/3WD76 But I just don't have the little plastic box thingo. Can I run it direct without the device? Or can I just block that hose off altogether perhaps? Thanks Brad |

Okay so I think its the IAC Filter, according to this diagram. http://www.fixkick.com/sensors/96-16L-plumb1w.jpg Is it absolutely critical? |

Yes. It's the idle air control. Car won't idle properly without it. Isn't it just connected to the air intake crossover pipe? pretty sure mine is. *Edit* just seen the diagram, so now you know where it needs to go. |

That black plastic box can be blanked out (I think it adds volume behind the afm, so it acts like a reservoir of air to somewhat reduce pressure pulses on the afm). I clamped a small pvc end cap in place, but I have more piping than stock g16b setup. |
