Hi,

as per the heading seeking answers to exhaust flex pipes. Just returned back to Oz and upon inspecting the condition of my Vitara before registration I've noticed that the exhaust flex pipe it not fitted anymore. (don't ask)

How many of you are driving without a flex pipe? Having it makes sense as it removed vibration and stress from the engine. In case of accident from behind the flex pipe would limit the damage.

Would crossing water be an issue if a flex pipe is fitted to the exhaust?

Flex pipes are watertight when in good condition.
Vitaras and sierras (and most factory exhausts) don't have a flex pipe standard. Both sierras and vitaras use a sprung conical flange between the header and the down pipe.
