Does anybody know if you can get a genuine Suzuki replacement Mass Air Flow Sensor for a H20A??

I recently had o replace mine, bought a cheap one ($80) off eBay and it made no difference.

I took it o the mechanics today and he said every time they "reset" the ecu to use their scan tool, after 10 seconds the engine light would come back on and read (low signal from mass air flow sensor)..... Its a brand new sensor!!!!!!

Any help on finding a genuine one would be greatly appreciated as I'm not going to pay $1200+ for a new entire throttle body :-(

I remember reading about dirty contacts or earth causing low signal errors this could be MAF side or ECU side.

There is a test but someone can confirm this. Esp on ECU Pin or even what colour the wire is (prob can match colour on MAF connector wire to ECU)

On connection to MAF use multi meter to test pin 3 (looking at Connector with clip pointing up its the far right pin) with Negative to earth and positive to pin3 it should read Battery voltage.

MAF output voltage with the car set to on is 1 to 1.6 volts and between 1.7-2v at idle and should rise up to 5v with RPM"S

If out of the above specs it will throw the error. I would check the wiring before looking for another MAFF as it could be money down the drain if its the connectors or wires at fault.

Thanks mate, the old boy will be here tomorrow with a volt meter to check it out.

Since bringing it back from the mechanic, the engine light has gone off and its running fine. It won't idle, you have to keep it above 1k revs, but I can plant it in every gear now......

Very confused.

Sounds like the ecu is either calibrating or needs a reset by disconnecting the bat

You can calibrate it by holding rpms at 1000 then very slowly letting foot off accelerator till it almost stalls. Hold let car bring revs up by itself then slowly release more keep doing this untill foot is off accelerator let sit for two min. Turn off and start imediatly after rev to 2500 3 times turn off engine and start again. Norm is ok after doing this.

WHERE EXACTLY is this documented - or is it internet lore?

I have the FSM for the SV620, and I don't recall any such procedure in there, nor for that matter in the FSM for the SQ625 or JA627 (which is what you drive), which I also have.

I have never seen a recalibrate procedure in any Suzuki FSM, and I've been driving and doing my own maintenance on Suzukis for over thirty years now.

It's not documented its what I found that worked with the idle issue after ecu has been reset or something has been changed. Sometimes the motor refuses to idle I found the above method works. The rev 3 times turn off restart straight away was for something in the manual.

I shouldn't of used calibrate as such. It's more just learing the idle mixture. I use to drive off and it would stall at traffic lights and I had to hold it at 1000rpm got annoying at times. Figiured this out which helped

I have been signed up to pit stop for a while and done a fair bit of reading esp on the ecus and the learning methods which helped.
