Hiya all...did a search but didnt find much,so I was wondering if all the wiring is in the rear to install speakers? 4inch i presume same as the front...I did read somewhere that not all the wiring is available and also can 6inch speakers be installed in the rear instead of the 4inch?

The wires are there, you just need to run them from the plug behind the panel out to the speakers.

Can't remember which colours were which, but this pic in my built thread will give you a better idea; http://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=808874#p808874

*EDIT;

I used these type of connector and snapped off one of the tabs, they fitted perfectly.

Thanks for that mate.I can see exactly how you did it...I reckon I to will go for the 6inch option...just out of curiosity,what did you use to make the hole bigger to fit the 6inch? Jigsaw,grinder,hand file or a 9 pound mallett hahaha.
Thankyou

Marked out the cut line, drilled a heap of holes (about 12mm drill bit) and started with the jigsaw, got tired of that pretty quickly so used the grinder. :)
There was only little tabs to cut so it didn't make too many sparks. I have one of those power multi-tool things now and would recommend using one of those if you can.

If you hate rust as much as me I would advise putting a damp cloth down inside the panel before you start drilling and cutting.
The cloth will catch all the metal shavings and grinding dust that falls in the panel. If you don't catch it or clean it up properly it will get wet eventually and will cause it rust in future years.

Great idea that,thanks for the info....doesnt sound to hard to tackle...I may attempt it in a few weeks....should sound way better even with the standard jukebox for now. Those front lil dual cone things are very average :|

yeah the cables for the rear speakers are in top of the wheel arch of the rear passenger wheel.

also if you can find 5" speakers they fit fine. Mine did no issues, just needed to drill new holes. But is an odd size to find. If you can grind a hole for 6", go for it

In my 2011 Jimny I ran cable from the rear speaker cabling into the boot and then installed some 6x9s in speakers in boxes in the boot. The head unit can be faded to the rear and provide more power there and the 6x9s have a satisfying amount of bass. I can pull them out when I need the space or spin them around when to get some music at the campsite.

Edit: There are instructions to get the rear apart on this site http://www.danbp.org/w/Installation_of_ ... zuki_Jimny

the holes fit 5" speakers perfectly, you can fit 6.5's with a spacer rather than chop your car up like i did in my rig thread, but it's imo more trouble than it's worth (if i did it again i'd just buy good quality 5" speakers & screw them straight in).
