I had some leaves that had teflon tape or something between the leaves... it last about 3 offroad trips before flogging out and creating a heap of noise. Had to open up the packs and blast out the leftovers to make them quiet again.
Technology may have come further since then, but i'm a skeptic.
My OME leaves had them. They did wear out, afterwards I just used high pressure grease between leaves, with a sand, clean and regrease every 3 years ish.

I have used a Teflon type tape in between my leafs before. I did find the ends wore out after a while but it helped stop sand and rust building up in between and i felt it rode a little softer as the friction between the leafs is reduced .
Here's a photo of the stuff I used , it didnt cost to much and had a sticky back.
