Hey all,
I have fron diff lock, about 2 years old, RD206that workd just fine till few monthes ago.
i have kind of strange behavior of my front diff lock.
at first use, most of time, its engage and works perfectly with no compressor involving for about 10 min. the disengage after is also fine.
when i disengage and try to engage againg i notice that all the air goes out from the breather and no engage of the diff. i need to drive a a bit (didnt find kind of rule) to make it works again.
lately i notice that the ability to engage the diff lock after disengage became difficultly.

I must say that when i finally engage the diff lock, there is no air leak and the compressor works only every 10 min.
please advice, about the diagnose and solution

If the compressor runs every ten minutes with difflock engaged then you DO have an airleak.
What pressure are you running?

the compressor run once each 10 MIN, on two diff locks, for me it sounds fine
the problem is that the front diff sometimes engage with no leak and sometime not engage at all and all the atir goes out from the breather

So you have an air leak you don't care about and you don't know what pressure you are running?

Sounds like an o ring in the locker to me.

but the strange thing is, if the o-rings are torn, it cant be engaged no matter what, but the strange thing is that sometimes it works with not leak at all and sometimes all the air goes from the breather 100%.
the rules for engage is that at first engane switch it works fine, after disengage (and it disengage imidiateley) and engage right after it does not work. you need to drive a bit or something.

If the oring was torn badly enough.
A damaged oring is like a damaged tyre bead. It'd seal enough to inflate fully, but you have a slow leak.
It initially can take extra pressure to get the o ring to get enough pressure to enable engagement.

Replace the oring and it'll all be good.

A locker solenoid failure can cause a huge air leak from the vent.
Mine did (Chinasoong)
I replaced with one from ARB Kilsyth. Was $59.

It also sounds as if the pressure switch could be playing up and running low pressure not allowing it to engage, I have always ran 80/120 psi switches on mine

I believe the newer lockers have almost no practical upper limit to how much pressure they can run. I understand ARB compressors now ship with 175psi pressure switches. In competition use where crash locking is common, ARB set them up with up to 600psi of supply pressure.

What sort of compressor do they use or are they running nitrogen straight from bottle?
