Hi all,

I'm about to fit an OME lift to my jimny, and have lined up some 235/75r15 tyres for it for a good price.

I have done quite a bit of looking around to see whether they will/will not fit and it looks like I shouldn't have too much dramas (but might have to do a little guard cutting perhaps).

I was just curious whether anyone could tell me if, further down the line I decided to go for a little more clearance whether I can:

A) simply use spacers on top of the lifted springs for an extra 30mm lift or so, without much additional modification, or whether it would require me extending panhards and doing castor correction etc and possibly getting even longer shocks than the OME ones.

and
B) whether I will have any dramas fitting the tyres to the suzuki alloys?
I was of the impression that the 15" alloys are slightly wider and more offset than the standard steelies on the JX model, so if anyone could clarify this for me that would be great as I couldn't seem to find any specs in the manual.

i dont own a jimny but from working on one a can say you will be fine to throw in some 30mm spacers down the track, even some rear shock spacers and a panhard spacer. you wont need brake lines untill you hit 80mm plus

this one is the tough dog 40mm lift with 50mm spacers and brake lines

I definately would not be going more than 30mm I don' think.

That would be 70mm total lift which should be more than ample to clear the tyres.. if I need it at all.
What is a rear shock spacer? Do they just effectively lift the mounting point? and do they also come for the front?

I would rather not have to replace brake lines etc, but obviously if its going to be necessary then so be it.

I am just trying to avoid body lifting, as its got air bags and an ARB bullbar I would rather not modify.

not totally sure myself but ask "zukenutter" he runs 205/75's now but i'm pretty sure he use to run 235/75's. he has 90mm's of lift (lifted shocks and springs and spacers) i only know this because i plan to lift my jimny and have looked at so many different mods people have done to make sure what i am going to do will work.

be carefull, using tough dog shocks may grenade your lower shock mounts eventualy, and if you want a larger lift without spacers, use vitara coils.

im not telling him to buy tough dog i have just worked on a jimny that has that set up and shocks have been on it for about 5 years.

Also i think zuk nutter went to smaller tires because of the fuel consumption and the drain on power.

I run on 215's and find them to be perfect in every way. I have Lovells coils and shocks to 40mm. There's lots to choose from out there, not just tough dog.
