| Post subject: | LWB front bar on SWB Vit |
I need a new front bar and found a LWB bar pretty cheap the guy said unless i have a vertical tow hook it won't fit I have a horizontal tow hook, is there anyway of fitting the LWB front bar? cut around the hook? finding a SWB front bar is proving very difficult and almost impossible all i really need is the bar reinforcement as my bar cover is ok but i can't find one anywhere in the country for a price i am happy to pay if its going to cost over $100 i will just buy a bullbar off another 4x4 and make it fit |

The LWB and SWB 1.6 chassis are substantially different. Cant help with what needs modifying between the two, but I'm aware it's a substantial job. |

Early LWB vit bullbars are harder to find then SWB ones. Buy it then sell at a premium price and buy a SWB one. I've been down the road of modifying bullbars and it's a lot of work although I modded a SWB one to fit a LWB. Most definitely a job worth over $100 if you can't do any part of it yourself. |

What needed to be modded mount wise to fit the swb to lwb? I think I can cut around the tow hook easy enough it's just the mounting point thats the real issue. I have a mig so I can weld anything I need. I have no bar currently but I have a piece of 200x75 hardwood I'm going to mount up to push the trees down on the next trail. If all else fails I'll make up a 200 pfc the width of the mounting plates then run 50 chs tube off the sides. Should only cost $50 and should be plenty to protect it |

I wanna see pics of the timber bull bar. Shouldn't really be pushing trees down on trails. |

haha not literally pushing trees down, the vitara would break doing that, i just mean the brush that comes up int he middle of the tyre tracks, last trail run the grille took the brunt of it and broke. i just want something to protect the grille and radiator for now until i can buy a winch bar and winch |

i fitted a LWB bullbar, i just had to fabricate some bracket that bolted to the chassis and lwb bar mounts i have to move the bar mounts out but being an alloy bar that was easy a steel bar would not have worked cost me $175 for the bar with spotties and $3 for steel |
