Gents I've had the head off of my motor and didn't mark the distributor etc etc. .. just turned it over with a massive backfire ... (used start-ya bastard) SO * Timing belt ... Crank on the marker ... Cam on the marker... cylinder 1 TDC .. correct?? * Set the tappets .. working back from 1 each tappet set with the cam lobe at 6 o'clock .. correct. * re-installed distributor so that rotor is at no. 1 ... correct. (I do have a pdf of the process .. but poor qaulity Regards Stuartr |

Timing may be 180 degrees out. At markers alligned, 1 and 4 are tdc. iirc 4 is ignition check cam lobes to see which one is at ignition tdc. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Check off the cam lobes etc to see which cylinder should be firing. You can see down the oil fill hole to double check what's happening with the cam and which stroke it is |

With the marks at cam and crank line up, check that cyl4 is rocking, once set turn the motor close to two turns and stop at the ignition timing point, around 8 deg BTDC, install you dizzy so it point directly to cyl1 ignition lead, take note of the dizzy rotation and install the leads in the correct firing order, which is 1342 |
