hi all.
i have been thinking about putting a 3 inch sus lift on my sierra but i am unsure if it cause problems in regards to steering and drive shaft angle/lenght. i have already got longer shocks all round with shock hoops on the front and in board shocks on the rear. what else should i be looking at or watching out for.
thanks greg

Mate there are going to be a bunch of replies asking why you want to, what you want to achieve, etc... So list your objectives now.
Do you just want a car that looks sick, or a decent off roader?

i have already got a 2inch sus and 2 inch body lift on it and am wanting to put a 3 inch sus lift on it to give it a bit more height for tyre clearance and flex` i dont really like the idea of spoa. it sits in the garage most of the time (not my daliy driver) so i do care if it looks "sick" i just want it to be able to go 4wd driving and really push the limits. i have had my sierra with the same set up for years now and i want to see what else it can do.
cheers greg

3" springs will not allow a larger tyre or add flex, and will ride like crap.

Stick with your 2" springs.

If you need more tyre clearance, get the grinder out.

If you want to push the limits, you need your car lower, not higher.

Steve.

i have 4" springs on the back and 3" springs + 1" shackles on the front.
rides and flexes very well and i can fit a true 33" tyre with minimal scrubbing
and no chopping up my car. the only reason i would change my setup is to
go spring over. i have no dramas with drive shaft angles, uni's or anything
like that.

i would get some custom main springs made up for the front and rear. get them made up longer with more of a ark, front diff mount hole 22-24mm forward. moving the front wheel forward just helps it stop from hitting the rear of the guard when tucked up.

the longer springs with bigger ark will let it flex a lot better and if you go the same spring rate as std you will have the same ride, be sitting at the same height or a bit lower than you are now with lots of down travel so you will feel stable

last time i looked (2 years ago now) at it is was going to cost me about $400 for 8 new main (2 new main springs each corner) springs made up. never did it because project got canned from babe on the way.

this is what i want to do to the next sierra
